What Would Help You To Do More?
Instant supplier pricing?
Standard.
Electronic contract signing?
Expected.
Prospect pipelines?
Of course.
But the real question is:
What would make YOUR life easier?
Maybe it’s the way your sales team handles renewals. Maybe it’s your validation process. Maybe it’s a weird-but-brilliant workflow someone built in Excel 12 years ago that everyone relies on.
These are things that actually matter.
At UtilityClick, we’ve spent years building software around the way brokers really work - not the way a generic CRM thinks they should.
Need a custom dashboard for your sales team? An automated workflow for contract chasing? A bespoke commission process? A weird little button that only makes sense to your business but saves your team 6 hours a week.
There's a good chance we’ve already built something similar before.
We’ve created hundreds of optional features and bespoke workflows for brokers over the years - many of which started as:
"This might sound oddly specific, but..."
And if we haven’t built it yet? We probably can.

The Broker's Bluffer's Guide
The
Appearing Younger
Are you a broker born in the 80’s who’s feeling like the industry lingo has quietly moved on without telling you?
Never fear. We’ve got the perfect tonic.
Take a look at our Broker's Bluffer's Guide and regain the respect you deserve:
Good to know: PowerPoint presentations are a term of the past. Instead call it a "Slide deck". Or if you're feeling extra confident then "deck" is the way to go.
Good to know: We no longer need to tell the computer to follow the trusted Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. Or indeed that it needs to connect to Sir Tim Berners-Lee's World Wide Web.
Good to know: "Rizz" is how the young folks judge a persons charisma - People from our era, like Sir David Attenborough or Oprah Winfrey could be said to have "serious rizz".
Good to know: Having 5 meetings a day is longer the in thing to do. Young people just want the details, with none of the 'Did you see Top Gear last night?' chat.
Good to know: By using PRO CRM you can replace spreadsheets and disconnected tools with an extensive clever, intuitive system built specifically for energy brokers.
Thankfully
You don’t really need a bluffer’s guide...
We offer a platform that evolves with the market. So whether it’s AI, complex analytics, smart validation, or whatever’s next, you’re not playing catch-up.
Because you’re already there...
Automated bill validation that protects margins, builds trust and creates ongoing value.
No bluffing required.
Just One Platform For Every Click
Is This Some Kind Of Joke?
(Our Top 5 April Fool's)
You may have seen our Toy Store for energy brokers last week.
Sorry again about that.
You see, as well as developing software for the last 10 years, like the little children we are, we’ve also been rolling out yearly 'April Fools' jokes.
Here we’re looking back at
our favourite UtilityClick fools*
from the past decade...
A Crafty Ale Fool
Brewed for the energy industry

A few years back, we once announced our boldest product pivot yet - into craft beer.
Not just any beer, of course. This was energy industry hops. Leading the lineup were MOP DC/DA IPA and the ever-sessionable PresALE ResALE.
There were labels. There were names. There was, briefly, genuine demand.
Sadly, there was no beer.
Broker Universal Management AI
Here we unveiled a revolutionary AI assistant designed to change the way brokers work forever.
Broker Universal Management, or, B.U.M. for short.
Just say what you want, and it delivers:
"Generate pricing for renewals in the next 28 days."
"Resolve the latest objection from British Gas."
It was seamless. It was powerful. It was extremely well received. One beta user even said:
"Your B.U.M. not only looks great but I can do more with it than I could ever imagine."
We were ready to roll it out to the masses. But in the end, we had to pull the plug.
Energy Crush
The world’s first energy dating app

Finally, a dating app that gets you.
Energy Crush was built for those who’ve tried dating outside the industry... and learned their lesson.
Because we knew non-energy folk:
Don’t appreciate a well-formed pylon They won’t debate the Climate Change Levy over dinner And they definitely don’t respect you when you’ve won a paid-for industry award
So we stepped in.
Tell us your top five energy passions, and we’ll match you with your perfect industry soulmate we said.
From connecting brokers and suppliers… to connecting hearts. It felt like a natural next step.
Now That’s What I Call Energy
The album
Here we briefly entered our musical era.
A full compilation album featuring:
Freddy The Broker Jodie’s heartfelt ode to her Tesla The team’s electrifying group hit, Electrical
It had everything. Anthems. Emotion. Absolutely no distribution deal.
Despite early promise, you won’t find it in any bargain bin... or anywhere at all, unfortunately.
Introducing UtiliToys
The Energy Broker
Toy Store

Our most recent creation - and arguably our biggest yet.
UtiliToys promised a range of essential tools for the modern broker:
Broker Ear Defenders Oops, That’s My Commission - the board game The ever-popular Stress-Relief Gas Pipeline
We even backed it with “research”:
"Studies show that short, tactile interactions can help maintain focus during complex tasks..."
It sounded legitimate. It felt helpful.
It was, again, complete nonsense.
So...
Why do we do it?
April Fool's isn’t just about the joke for us. It's a space where we get to show how we think, not just what we build.
Because behind all the features, workflows, and dashboards... it's just us.
A group of people sat in a room (or on Teams, or occasionally in a shed) trying to make something genuinely useful for brokers.
We're not a huge corporation with layers between us and the people using the software.
We talk to brokers.
We hear the frustrations.
We build around them.
And sometimes we turn them into a toy shop.
Every ridiculous product in that store came from a real moment. The “surely this could be easier” feeling.
That’s the stuff we actually care about.
April Fool’s just gives us a way to say it out loud without sounding like we’re writing a brochure.
We never want to be a faceless platform, lecturing the industry on what it thinks is best.
We're a team of real people, building things we hope make a difference.
*No, our CEO, Andy Hunter, isn’t one of the top UtilityClick fools listed above - shame on you for even suggesting it!
The Oscars Vs. UtilityClick
The Oscars
Vs.
UtilityClick
It’s Oscar season. Which means three-plus hours of speeches 😴, montages 🖼️, polite clapping 👏, backslapping 🥹 and sometimes face-slapping 👊.
If you’d rather skip the marathon, we might have a better option:
A blockbuster demo of PRO CRM, presented by our antithesis of Chris Rock, Andy Hunter 🧔♂️.
No tux. No orchestra playing him off. Just Andy, a screen share, and some very honest software.
The Oscars Vs. UtilityClick
Why Our Demo Beats the Oscars
-
Watching a generic CRM demo can feel like Train Dreams - slow, drifting, and hard to stay awake through.
Our demo focuses on the bits brokers actually care about. No off-track scenic routes.
-
We were brokers, and we’ve lived what happens when you choose the wrong CRM.
It can quickly become One Battle After Another - fighting the system instead of getting work done.
-
Users no longer need to feel like Sinners by bending rules and hacking processes just to get the job done.
PRO CRM removes the need for shortcuts in the first place.
-
There’s no need to bolt unsuitable tools together like the monster of Frankenstein.
Tenders, contracts, suppliers, commissions - they’re all built in, already working together, and behaving themselves.
-
Some platforms lean on big personalities and even bigger promises. You won’t find any Marty Supreme talk here.
Just software doing what it says on the tin.
-
Others coast on Sentimental Value - nice ideas, nostalgic workflows, not much substance.
This demo is practical, occasionally scrappy, and very much not pretending to be Hollywood.
-
There's no Secret Agent sales choreography either.
No calendar traps. No mysterious follow-ups. You watch the demo when it suits you. That’s it.
-
We release often, which helps us wave goodbye to a potential Bug(onia)*
On average, we release improvements every 3.5 days - quietly improving.
-
Generic CRMs try to be everything to everyone.
Energy gets sidelined, and the real pain is quiet and internal Hamnet, but with spreadsheets.
-
Every PRO CRM account runs on its own single-tenant database.
That means F1-level speed, security, and performance - with your data kept entirely to yourself.
*We wholeheartedly apologise for the Bug(onia) one. In all honesty, we'd run out of steam by this point.
Watch the Demo. Skip the Ceremony.
It’s not perfect. It won’t win Best Cinematography. Andy might even click the wrong tab once.
But it’s short, honest, and actually useful.
Which, you could argue, is more than most award shows.
A Very Merry Pants Vs. Pants
A Festive Battle Of
Briefs vs. Trousers
(Sorry, The competition is over but you can still play for fun)
Every Christmas we like to spread a little joy. This year, we also thought we’d spread a little chaos.
Welcome to "A Very Merry Pants vs. Pants", the holiday showdown where national pride, festive spirit, and underwear collide.
What's going on? As you'll likely know, "pants" means something very different on each side of the Atlantic. So we've built a mini-game for our UK and US friends to help decide which one is right, and only one side can claim victory!
Let's see who's winning...
Play For Fun

Let's celebrate the differences
Why Are We Doing This?
Because energy software might be serious business - but we don’t always have to be.
We build powerful platforms for both the US and UK energy industries, and while the industries share a lot in common, the differences matter too.
Some are technical.
Some are regulatory.
And some are just linguistics... Just like "pants".
So consider this game our festive tribute to those differences - and to all of you who work with us on both sides of the pond.
Disclaimer
This offer is open to UK and USA residents only.
Users occupying the top 5 positions on January 5th at 12pm (GMT) will be awarded the above prize based on their position within the relevant highscore table.
We reserve the right to swap a prize for one of a similar value.
US winners must reside within the USA. UK winners must reside within the UK. We may ask you to verify your location. Failure to provide adequate evidence of residence may result in the removal of your prize.
Your data will only be used for internal purposes and NEVER sold or supplied to a third party.
To ensure fairness we are limiting this promotion to employees and colleagues of the energy management, energy supply and energy procurement industries. For verification purposes, we suggest you use a company email associated with the energy industry. We may contact you directly for verification.
We reserve the right to remove this promotion at any time or swap prizes to those of equal value if exact prizes can’t be sourced.
We love funny names as much as the next person, but any names appearing on the high score table that could be considered rude, vulgar or offensive will be removed, and no prize will be given.
Unfortunately, this competition is not open to UtilityClick employees or their family members.
MHHS Industry Update
MHHS
Industry Update
What This Means for You
As part of the Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) programme, there are industry-wide changes to how electricity meters are recorded. The most visible change is the replacement of the 3-digit MTC (Meter Timeswitch Code) with a 4-digit SSC (Standard Settlement Configuration).
We’ve been preparing for this milestone and want to reassure you that our software is up to date. Here’s what you need to know:
Software Changes Already in Place
We’ve made several updates behind the scenes so you can continue working without disruption:
Flexible MTC/SSC field – the "MTC" field can now accept either 3 or 4 characters, meaning you can store either the MTC values or the new SSC codes. Migration tracking – each electricity meter screen now includes a "MHHS – Migration Complete?" checkbox, letting you record whether a meter has been migrated into the new settlement arrangements. Top Line Support – when you add a new meter via our Meter Lookup tool, the SSC will be pulled through automatically. You can also manually update top lines or use our Meters Update import for bulk changes.
What This Means for You
The SSC update is the most significant change to date, but it does not require large-scale software updates. You can continue to use the system as normal. Supplier communications may vary, but we’re monitoring these closely and updating our software wherever needed. For any specific queries about MHHS, we recommend speaking directly with your supplier/s.
Want More Detail?
We've pulled together some FAQs on how our software supports MHHS, covering:
How top lines are managed Matrix pricing and when it’s affected What “DUoS Tariff ID” means What happens when moving from NHH to HH under MHHS

Dev Recap USA: Fall 2025
2025
Fall
Development Recap
(For our 🇺🇸 US Customers)
Welcome to the USA Fall edition of our development roundup. Here we showcase a select few of the delightful features we’ve developed over the past few months.
For this edition, we’ve rolled out a mix of big and small improvements: From an all-new AI ChatBot, better filters in Activities, extended Advanced Search, to pass-through charges when building products.
AI ChatBot
We've introduced a new AI ChatBot within our support section, now available across all our software. It's trained to answer common queries instantly, helping you find solutions without the wait.
Of course, our brilliant 'real' human support team is still on hand whenever you need them – but when combined with the ChatBot and our Utiliversity video library, you'll always have quick access to the help you need.
Built for: EVERYTHING
Improved Filtering Within Activities
Activities are the backbone of managing tasks across your team, customers, and suppliers – so finding what you need quickly is key.
We've added new filters that let you view activities assigned to specific users and introduced a Date Added filter, so you can search not only by due date, but also by when an activity was first created. More control, less digging.
Built for: PRO CRM
Pass-Through Charges in Product Build
When building products to price, every detail matters. That's why you can now add pass-through charges directly during product setup. Whether it's Energy, Line Losses, Congestion, Ancillary Service, or ERCOT Admin Fees, each charge can be flagged as Included or Excluded – helping you save time and keep product definitions crystal clear.
Built for: PRO CRM (US)
Extended Advanced Search
Our Advanced Search tool makes it simple to find exactly what you need from a single search bar – no more hopping between fields. You can already look up things like MSN, Site Name, and Account Number in one place, and we've recently improved it within the Customer module for even more flexible customer searches.
Improved User Permissions
We know not every role fits neatly into our preset user levels. That's why we've extended permissions to give you even more flexibility. For example, you might want a Lead Generator to access Customers but not Contracts.
We've recently improved this feature, particularly in the Leads module and BILL VAL; So you can now fine-tune access at a more granular level – covering things like Cloud Documents, Adding Contacts & Users, and Resetting Passwords.
Notification Rules Enhancements
Notifications keep your team in the loop when things change – like a new lead being added or a quote status updated. We've made these rules more flexible, so you can now send alerts not just to a specified user level but also to individual teams and users. That means the right people get the right information, every time.
Built for: EVERYTHING
That’s it for this time.
Our software evolves at such an exciting rate so please feel free to get in touch to discuss any of the functionality we’ve added since you last saw it. We’ll be more than happy to arrange a demo to show you around!

Autumn
Development Recap
(For our 🇬🇧 UK Customers)
Welcome to the UK Autumn edition of our development roundup. Here we showcase a select few of the delightful features we’ve developed over the past few months.
For this edition, we've rolled out a mix of big and small improvements: From smart credit generation in BILL VAL, an all-new AI ChatBot, better filters in Activities, extended Advanced Search, to updates to support the ongoing MHHS migration.
Smart Credit Generation
You can now generate credit notes against invoices in just a few clicks. The system will automatically create a new batch with like-for-like reversals of the original invoice line values, using the invoice number you specify as the reference.
To keep everything connected, credits are now linked directly to their original invoice (and vice versa) via handy hyperlinks – making it easier than ever to trace and reconcile records.

UI Enhancements
Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference. We've rolled out a set of UI improvements in BILL VAL to help you work faster and more comfortably:
1. Sticky table headers:
Keep column names in view as you scroll.
2. Clickable data links:
Jump straight to details (e.g. from a meter number).
3. Clearer interactions:
Buttons and labels are now unmistakably different.
4. Moving toolbars & pagination:
Important controls stay with you as you scroll.
5. Helpful hints & placeholders:
Every field tells you what belongs inside.
Each one saves a few seconds here and there – and over a year, that really adds up.
Improved User Permissions

MHHS Migration Functionality
As part of the Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) migration, there are some changes happening to how electricity meters are recorded.
To prepare for this, we’ve made updates in our software to make sure you can store the right information without any issues. For example, the LLF field has already been updated so it can accept both numbers and letters.
We’ve now added two further improvements:
1) On each meter screen, you’ll see a new checkbox called “MHHS – Migration Complete?”. This simply lets you record whether the migration has been completed for that particular meter.
2) The MTC field can now be saved using either three or four characters, giving you the flexibility you’ll need as the industry moves across to the new setup.
These changes are part of our ongoing work to keep your system aligned with industry requirements, so you can manage your data with confidence.

Decoding British Politeness
A
(Not-So-Serious)
Guide For
UK To US
Business
Transatlantic trade is in the headlines again. While politicians argue over tariffs on steel, whisky, and tea, there’s another UK export quietly landing on US shores every day: business conversations.
If you’re a US energy broker, these chats can be valuable - UK companies can bring market expertise, technology honed in one of the world’s most competitive deregulated energy markets, and the occasional charming accent.
You've likely noticed it - British business etiquette can be as polite as Mr Bean apologising to a lamppost but if you've ever wondered, "What do they really mean?". Read on, you're in luck.
Here’s your
Unofficial British-to-American
Decode Book:
Ok, our tongue is firmly in cheek
But here’s where we drop the act…
When it comes to running your brokerage, PRO CRM doesn't do "no rush" or "let's agree to disagree."
It bulldozes through inefficiency.
We know the US market pain points:
Reconciling commissions across dozens of suppliers with different payment schedules. Managing multi-site and national accounts without drowning in spreadsheets. Chasing suppliers for status updates when you could be closing deals. Losing days to manual uploads, mismatched data, and rejected contracts. Missing renewal windows because your "system" is buried in someone’s inbox.
That's why we built PRO CRM for US Brokers. To tackle these and many other navigable pain points.
PRO CRM doesn’t smile sweetly and say “no rush” to any of that. It was built in the UK and optimised for the US energy broker market.
With it, you and your team will be:
Pricing entire portfolios in minutes, tracking every commission dollar, flagging renewals before they expire, and keeping supplier comms in one tidy place.
Polite on the outside.
Brutally effective on the inside.
"You helped save us over $100,000 in missed commission"
