Take a look at our Broker's Bluffer's Guide and regain the respect you deserve:

  • Don't say:
    "Right, everyone, I've got a great Microsoft PowerPoint presentation for you today"
  • Say this instead:
    "I’ve smashed together a quick deck"

Good to know: PowerPoint presentations are a term of the past. Instead call it a "Slide deck". Or if you're feeling extra confident then "deck" is the way go-to.

  • Don't say:
    "Our website is H, T, T, P, Colon, Forward Slash, Forward slash, W, W, W, Dot"
  • Say this instead:
    "Hit us up on Google"

Good to know: We no longer need to tell the computer to follow the trusted Hyper Text Transfer Protocol. Or indeed that it needs to connect to Sir Tim Berners-Lee's World Wide Web.

  • Don't say:
    "Timothy, your sales repertoire is splendid"
  • Say this instead:
    "T-Dawg. You got serious rizz"

Good to know: "Rizz" is how the young folks judge a persons charisma - People from our era, like Sir David Attenborough or Oprah Winfrey could be said to have "serious rizz".

  • Don't say:
    "I'll send you the Skype invite and we can chat more about it"
  • Say this instead:
    "Slack me the Deets"

Good to know: Having 5 meetings a day is longer the in thing to do. Young people just want the details, with none of the 'Did you see Top Gear last night?' chat.

  • Don't say:
    "Give me a couple of days to get a final quote together and then we can draw up the contract next week"
  • Say this instead:
    "I'll get the quote generated now and then we can sign the contract this afternoon"

Here we’re looking back at

A Crafty Ale Fool
Brewed for the energy industry
A few years back, we once announced our boldest product pivot yet - into craft beer.
Not just any beer, of course. This was energy industry hops. Leading the lineup were MOP DC/DA IPA and the ever-sessionable PresALE ResALE.
There were labels. There were names. There was, briefly, genuine demand.
Sadly, there was no beer.
Broker Universal Management AI
Here we unveiled a revolutionary AI assistant designed to change the way brokers work forever.
Broker Universal Management, or, B.U.M. for short.
Just say what you want, and it delivers:
"Generate pricing for renewals in the next 28 days."
"Resolve the latest objection from British Gas."
It was seamless. It was powerful. It was extremely well received. One beta user even said:
"Your B.U.M. not only looks great but I can do more with it than I could ever imagine."
We were ready to roll it out to the masses. But in the end, we had to pull the plug.

Finally, a dating app that gets you.
Energy Crush was built for those who’ve tried dating outside the industry... and learned their lesson.
Because we knew non-energy folk:

It was, again, complete nonsense.

Why do we do it?

April Fool's isn’t just about the joke for us. It's a space where we get to show how we think, not just what we build.
Because behind all the features, workflows, and dashboards... it's just us.
A group of people sat in a room (or on Teams, or occasionally in a shed) trying to make something genuinely useful for brokers.
We're not a huge corporation with layers between us and the people using the software.

We talk to brokers.
We hear the frustrations.
We build around them.

And sometimes we turn them into a toy shop.
Every ridiculous product in that store came from a real moment. The “surely this could be easier” feeling.
That’s the stuff we actually care about.
April Fool’s just gives us a way to say it out loud without sounding like we’re writing a brochure.
